Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about custom cabinetry — our process, pricing, the wood we use, and the areas we serve. Don't see your question? Get in touch and we'll answer it directly.

What makes Reviving Dawn's cabinets different from store-bought?

We build like furniture makers, not a production line — solid hardwood faces and drawer boxes, dovetail and mortise-and-tenon joinery, and hand-applied finishes. Every piece is built to fit a specific room rather than pulled from standard sizes.

How long does a custom cabinetry project take?

Most full custom kitchens take 8 to 16 weeks from design approval to installation, depending on scope. Smaller projects like vanities and built-ins are quicker.

What does custom cabinetry cost?

As working ranges: bathroom vanities run $4,000 to $15,000, built-ins $6,000 to $25,000, wet bars and butler's pantries $15,000 to $45,000, and full custom kitchens $40,000 and up. Every project gets a real estimate after we understand the scope.

What areas do you serve?

Our shop is in Watkinsville, and we build for homeowners, designers, and builders across Athens, Oconee County, Gainesville and Hall County, and the broader north Georgia region.

Do you work with interior designers and builders?

Yes — a significant share of our work comes through interior designers and custom builders. We review drawings promptly, honor specifications to the dimension, and keep communication clear when something changes on site.

What wood species and finishes do you offer?

We work in solid American hardwoods — including maple, white oak, walnut, and cherry — with hand-applied painted and stained finishes chosen to suit your home and how the space is used.

Do you handle installation?

Yes. We design, build, and install ourselves, fitted to the room, and we stand behind the work after the install is complete.
