Building a Lake Oconee Home from Out of State: A Cabinetry Guide for Second-Home Owners
Share
A lot of Lake Oconee homes belong to people who live somewhere else: Atlanta, Florida, out of state. Here's how we build cabinetry for a home you're not standing in every week.
The second-home reality
Plenty of the finest homes at Reynolds, Cuscowilla, and around Lake Oconee are second homes and lake retreats. Their owners often manage the build from a distance, around a busy life elsewhere. Custom cabinetry can feel risky from afar, but it doesn't have to be, as long as the process is built for it.
How we make a remote project work
The things that make any project go smoothly matter even more when you're not on-site: you see detailed renderings before you commit, so there are no surprises; we keep communication prompt and clear by email, call, or video; and we coordinate the install date around your schedule and your builder's. You approve the decisions that matter; we handle the execution.
Working through your builder or designer
Many of our Lake Oconee clients are building or renovating with a local builder or interior designer already on the ground. That's an ideal setup. We slot in as the cabinetry specialist, honor the drawings and specifications to the dimension, and keep your team in the loop, so you're not playing middleman from three states away.
Decisions you can make from anywhere
Wood and finish samples can be shipped to you. Renderings and material boards travel by email. A short video walkthrough of the build in progress keeps you connected to the work. The goal is for you to feel confident about every choice without needing to drive to the shop, though you're always welcome to.
Install day
We deliver and install ourselves, fitted to the room. You don't have to be there; we coordinate access with your builder or property manager and send photos when it's in. Often the first time you see it in person, it's already done.
