The Riverborne Bed takes its name from the story behind the first piece in this design: a black walnut tree that fell into a river, was later recovered by my client who commissioned the original, air-dried with patience, and finally milled into the boards that inspired this form. A tree carried by water, brought back to purpose — that lineage is woven into every curve and line of this bed.
Crafted from solid black walnut, Riverborne features a classic frame-and-panel design that lets the wood speak for itself. The rich grain and deep, natural color become the focal point, giving the piece a calming and elegant presence in the room. It’s timeless by intention — a design grounded in simplicity, proportion, and the quiet confidence of fine materials.
Built with old-world mortise-and-tenon joinery and supported by hardwood slats, Riverborne is made to serve for generations. A clear satin finish completes the piece, allowing the walnut’s natural beauty to come through without distraction.
Riverborne isn’t just a bed. It’s a continuation of a story — revived, restored, and ready to become part of the memories made in your home.
